Join the CASG Debate Team
CASG welcomes talented and passionate debaters to join our Debate Team and compete with us throughout the year.
Our Debate Team participates in a wide range of debate tournaments and competitions across Canada and the United States, giving students regular opportunities to challenge themselves, compete against strong opponents, and gain valuable experience in competitive debate.
Students who reach Level 3 or above will have the opportunity to join our competition team and participate in debate tournaments on a monthly basis throughout the year. Through regular competitions, students gain valuable experience debating under pressure, adapting to different opponents and formats, and applying their skills in real competitive settings.
With ongoing training, competition preparation, and detailed feedback from our experienced coaches, students continue to strengthen their argumentation, rebuttal, public speaking, critical thinking, and competitive debate skills.

What is Debate?
Debate is a structured form of argumentation where participants present opposing viewpoints on a specific topic. It involves researching the topic, constructing arguments, delivering speeches, and engaging in rebuttals and cross-examinations. The goal is to persuade an audience or judges through logical reasoning, evidence, and effective communication.
